Colorbond® vs aluminum louver roof systems

Made of longer-lasting Bluescope Colorbond®

While other louver systems use cheaper aluminum alternatives, Vergola® continues to use the superior BlueScope® Colorbond® that is the roofing material of choice for nearly half of all new Australian homes and over 80% of all Australian gutters and fascias. With its four layers of protection over the quality steel base, the Vergola® louvers are highly resistant to corrosion and maintain their beautiful appearance for longer.

Manufactured in Australia to Australian Standards (AS1397 and AS/NZS 2728) and tested in some of the harshest Australian conditions over the last 50 years, genuine Colorbond® steel is far more than just ‘paint on steel’.

Colorbond® is manufactured from Zincalume® steel with an aluminum/zinc/magnesium alloy coating that is stronger and longer-lasting than aluminum.

A conversion layer is applied to the steel surface to improve adhesion.

Colorbond’s Super Polyester coating technology ensures the Vergola’s finish retains its ‘as new’ look for longer.

Exterior grade paint is baked on to the Zincalume® steel base giving Vergola® resistance to chipping, peeling and cracking that is superior to powdercoated aluminum louvers.

*Activate® technology is not available for COLORBOND® Stainless steel, COLORBOND® Permagard® steel and COLORBOND® steel products with a galvanized steel substrate.
